What's the difference between a Smartboard and a Promethean Board? I just got one and I don't know what to do with it. I have not gotten training on it . Yet!

From what I understand Smartboard and Promethan Boards are very similar, just different brand names, like Toyota and Honda. Some of the features may differ, but they each essentially get the same job done.

I have a Promethean Board and I think they are similar. Promethean Planet has TONS and TONS of resources to draw from!

They are all Interactive White Boards, aka: IWB. They are a conduit to the teacher's computer and allow you to control your computer from the board with a pen, finger, etc. The real difference is in the software and available free online resources.

Promethean is generally recogonized as the best interactive lesson creation software, with the most free online resources and most robust online teacher community, Promethean Planet.

If you have a Smart or Eno board you can utilize the Promethean software, ActiveInspire. Conversely if you have a Promethean board you could utilize Smart Notebook software, though for the life of me I can't imagine why anyone would.
