Ready for This School Year to Be Over

We are teaching virtually. For the first time ever. And they expect us to use the 5E lesson plan model, which was presented to us like two days before we started teaching in August. We are still doing PD on it and other virtual teaching methods because they waited until the last minute to decide to go fully virtual. Observations have been non-stop and it's irritating. Although I have received good feedback I wish they'd leave us alone. And then there are those students who don't show up or show up sporadically or don't want to engage. We are STILL testing and preparing for state tests. I have to follow the district pacing guide and I am behind due to technical issues, etc. And testing is coming up next week. I am just over it.

Tea and sympathy from this corner. Remote is exhausting.

You have my deepest sympathy. We only did six weeks remote and I really struggled with it.

However, to make things worse, we have four days of school left this year. And we still don’t have staff for next year, and have no idea what class we’ll have.

Ugh!! Testing and observations in a year like this is ridiculous! They still are going on here too, but it's pointless imo. Everybody is struggling and just trying to keep their head above water, and not always succeeding.

They want us to have empathy for our families and students, but how about some empathy for us???

Exactly! This is so hard on all of us, and it's time for admin to recognize the teachers are hurting too! We keep being told how wonderful we are and praised for all we do - while we're being buried in more and more expectations.
