I hate being micromanaged. I deal with it from my boss because I have to. YOU, dear co-worker, are NOT my boss. Stop telling me how to do things. And get out of my (virtual) classroom.

OK. Now maybe I can respond to her a little more professionally.

Is she helpful and possibly better than you to a point where you should pick her brain? Or is she just bossy and giving unwanted opinions?

Good for you. I'm getting at least 6 emails a day from one specific case manager. She's having trouble letting go of her kids. I really want to tell her I have 30+ kids and if she wants to keep them she's more than welcome to do so. I sent her back a rather terse reply yesterday to something and got an email apologizing. I think she realized she may have crossed a line. It is what it is. People are weird.

If she was being helpful I wouldn't be venting about it

Teachers are the worst micromanagers ever. This is my second career and I never experienced it to this degree in my other profession. Teachers can be really judgmental of how other people do the job. And I've caught myself doing it too and have tried to be more aware. Maybe it's because we're all so passionate about what we do? (That's my charitable take on the bossiness, anyway.)

Sorry she's being so annoying!! I hope you can ignore her.

From the other side, I'm a manager in person. I'm not micro and I'm not passive. This is a very public role. If you're making me or my school look BAD, it is my business.
