Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi all,
I am looking for lesson plan templates. Each year I buy a plan book and never use it. This year I want something I can do on a daily basis to put in a day by day folder. Any ideas or websites?
Thanks,
Terri

I use Microsoft Excel... I have a blank copy on my desktop and then I just copy cut paste and fill it in each week and save the plans on computer...then I email them off. I think I have seen this question before, search on old posts...good luck.

I make up my own template that I then print out, 3 hole punch it into my lesson plan binder and fill it in for each day. By making my own I can adjust the size of the blocks, put things in that are constants from day to day etc.
I'd attach it here for you but I don't know how!! Ok, I tried to attach.

Here are the ones I've used. The excel one is the one I used when I team taught - I taught no reading and 2 math blocks. The other one was when I taught self-contained. These were both used when I taught 4th grade. I didn't save the ones I used for other grades as that was so long ago! You can also check microsoft's website for templates for educators. They have a lot of different things there that might help you. Good luck!

Looks like I cannot upload my excel spreadsheet as it is saved with an .xls format that is not accepted. All I've included is the one where I taught self-contained. Sorry - I don't know how to make excel upload here...

Two page template

Hello! I've been using this one for years. I think I used the "create a table" feature on Word, but to be honest, I can't remember. It's written to meet my schedule, but I'm sure you could modify it for yourself. It may at least give you an idea. I love it, but the only flaw is that if I write too much, my template can get messed up. I am sure to save often in case this happens. I usually pencil in my plans during the week, then on Thursdays will type in my final copy so that it's ready for the next week. Good luck!
(By the way, this is a two page document. I print it, then put the pages face to face in a three-ringed binder.)

Teacher Lesson Plans/Reading Question
Old 07-09-2006, 08:36 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #10

Does no one have to send their lesson plans to their principal? Just curious. Our principal gives us a template to use and we have to e-mail a copy of our lesson plan for the following week on Friday and place a hard copy in a binder that must be on our desk at all times. At the end of the year we have to turn in the notebook of hard copies in to the principal as well. This will be our third year to do it like this.
I was also curious if anyone has 90 minute reading blocks? We are required to have 90 minutes of uninterrupted reading instruction each day and also must meet with our struggling readers for intervention each day.

Stefanie

At my school we are required to turn in daily lesson plans each week to be review by the principal. Learning goals and Curriculum objectives must be used. The plans can be very long. Looking for a better way to type out plans using appropriate objectives. Thank you all for sharing your ideas. Please keep them comng. I will tried to attched a sample.

Our school is going on an on-line grade book which has lesson plans, attendance, lunch count, calendar, etc. built in. I piloted a similar program for jr. high last year but the program did not have a lesson plan component. Only administrator will have access to our lesson plans. Parents will have access to grade book.

I downloaded the lesson plan book you mention and love it. It looks just like a regular lesson plan book, easy to use, and spell check.
Thanks,
Julie

I have created one in excel, but I can't seem to find where you can add an attachment. It has a place for standards. Send me an email address and I will send it to you. This is a recreated version from a template I used in graduate school.

I have to put standards and objectives in my lesson plans. We don't have to turn them in as long as they are complete when are observations are done or when he pops in. Some teachers are on a plan where they have to turn theirs in. I think this year I am going to switch on an online lesson planner
