One of my classmates used to bring in a remote control (no batteries) and she would fidget with it while the teacher was teaching/lecturing. At first I thought it was weird.

Now I'm going to market them. They are remotes that come with no batteries, just buttons that are silent. And ill call them "fidget remotes." Then I'll put a label on them saying "promotes focus and has a calming effect." I'll even put a sticker on it saying "can be used in classrooms, dr offices, and during long meetings."

I hate the fidget cubes because they are so loud, but remotes are quiet.

This is a great idea right?!!!

I have a whole drawer of unused remotes! I never thought of using them as a fidget! Great idea!

I'm not sure i would agree that you should put on a sticker that it can be used in classrooms. That would imply consent from schools and teachers. I allow stress balls, but no fidget toys of any kind. Last year was a nightmare with kids wanting to play with them, others watching only them, and kids stealing fidget toys that belonged to others. I'd prefer that they would leave them at home.

I was half joking about he sticker. The other fidgets always say that on their boxes, so I was just copying that.

I have a whole bin of fidgets kids can choose from. They pick which one works for them but it has to be in their lap or in their desk. If it's distracting it's not the right one.

Sometimes I even put Velcro on the inside of the desk. That seems to help too.

Sorry.
Beat you to it.
I did this 17 years ago with one of my grade 1 students.
I would frequently tell him to adjust the volume button.

Wish I had thought about monetizing the idea somehow.
But maybe you could make some money.

Who would have thought questions on a beach ball would generate a small fortune?
And who hadn't already written their own questions on a beach ball with a Sharpie. lol

I thought you were going to say you brought in the remote for you to use as a quiet-down trick! (I pictured the teacher in the movie Ramona & Beezus - "I'm muting you.")
