NYC Subs?

Are there any NYC subs that are starting out in the Fall? I am really confused about the certification process. As of now, we are only allowed to sub at one school, and only with a signed nomination letter from the principal. Does anyone know if this is going to change before the school year begins? Also, I had a principal write a letter for me last year, would I have to go back and ask for a new one for this year?
Thanks for any help you guys can offer...I'm so confused!

I'm a NYC teacher that has no choice but to sub for a second year. I recall during the middle of the year they were no longer accepting applications for subs, in part due to the budget cuts. When will you be certified? I can see about obtaining more helpful information for you.

I am a certified teacher and I was looking to sub but there was a freeze last year, so I recently looked into it again and you still need a nomination from a principal. So I have had no luck with getting a sub job.
