Grading Writing

I'm trying to decide the best way to grade written assignments. In the past, I have marked all corrections on the students' papers. This year I am using a rubric but deciding whether or not to mark all corrections on the paper. Thoughts? Thanks!

I rarely write on student papers. I condensed my rubric to fit on a quarter size sheet of paper, and score on that, then I make comments underneath when necessary.

I do as kateviolet. I make comments on the rubric. When students make many errors, I have them edit in pen and sometimes print a second copy.

I use a rubric and I write on the copy. I do this so the student can see exactly what my issues are with the piece.
