Seriously!?

We drove the whole 12 hours home from the beach yesterday. DS was a trooper. When we were getting ready to leave, he looked at my inlaws and said, ďTa-ta Granny and Grandad! We gotta go!Ē

All that worry for nothing.

DH and I unloaded the car this morning and as I was leaving to go pick up DH from the rental place, I accidentally kicked the suitcase full of DSís toys.

And broke my toe.

As in, my littlest piggy is pointing in the wrong direction now. DH made me go get x-rays just in case I dislocated it. Nope, itís a fracture. And since itís not my big toe, they donít do anything for it.

My. Toe. Is. Crooked.

Apparently, Iím supposed to ďcarefully maneuver it back into alignment.Ē Yeah, thatís going to be DHís job because I can barely walk let alone ďmaneuverĒ my toe.

I hope you feel better soon! I'm sorry they won't "fix" it. I broke my little toe thirty five years ago running through the house pushing my daughter in her walker. They didn't do anything to fix my toe either. I don't remember it being crooked though. I just remember hurting. I did heal quickly - I hope that is the same for you so you can put this behind you.

Yay about your little guy handling the goodbye when it was time to return home. Goodbyes can be so hard for some children.

I hope you can get it "into alignment" Can you tape it to the next toe? That's all they usually do, if they do anything. They even taped my last two toes together when I broke my metatarsals.

Oh ouch! I broke a toe back in February, and am sending you all of my empathy. Since it wasn't my big toe (and wasn't pointing in a weird way) I didn't bother to go to the doctor - just buddy taped it, ice, and stayed off of it for a few days. Hope you heal quickly!

Iím sorry this happened to you. A good friend had a similar experience, and I remember it healed pretty quickly. I hope your toe does, too.

Sorry that happened and that they expect you to correct it yourself. I would put ice on it then tape it and stay off of it. RICE.

Yay for your son. Sounds like he is maturing a bit. Is that the right term?

Your poor toe! As others noted, I would tape it as tightly as you can stand it to the next toe. And ice.

Broken toes hurt like the devil. Who would have thought such tiny bones could be so painful.

I am glad your leaving the beach was good! As for the toe, I did the same thing in college. Our family orthopedic doctor did not have me come in.l to the office. He told me to straighten the toe and use cloth bandage take to tape it to the toe next to it so it would heal straight. I did that for three weeks. Itís pretty straight. I hope you feel ok!

My mom loves to tell of the time she broke her little toe when I was little. The doctor sai, ďthat toe is brokenĒ and sent her home. She could t do anything with two little kids at home so went back in. Th doctor put her in a cast up to her knee, leaving the offending toe and itís sisters hanging out.

Didnít take her long to cut the cast off her leg!

I have done the toe thing, too. Hurts like Hades. Feel better soon.

I have a sleep study tonight and then I am picking Swift up tomorrow morning.

Can’t wait to dodge the 85 pound dog trying to step on my foot. I miss the derpy dog…and so does DS.
