Do any of you guys use Go Noodle in your classrooms?

I would like to use it this year but I'm having a hard time figuring out what activities to use. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It depends on your class

My class last year loved all of the Olympic track events. They take a little longer to do, but if I had time that is what we would use. The class also enjoyed all of the "Just Dance" type videos as well. They have their length listed so it was easy to find a short one if that was the time I had left. Kids also enjoyed the balloon breathing one (I don't remember what it was called).
They are all good -- and the kids don't seem to really care which one they are doing -- they just want to "Go Noodle".

LOVE GoNoodle. My kindergarteners (and my) favorite ones were the zumba videos. We LOVED dancing along with the videos. We thought the songs were super fun to listen to and I think the dancing is good gross motor practice and definitely got all the wiggles out!

Love it! Helps me get in PE time in chunks during the day. Plus, we add up our time to see how many PE minutes we have had. So we get mental math in as well.

I used Go Noodle in my classroom last year and my kids LOVED IT!!!! That is an understatement really, they were obsessed! We would use it every day. I would pick a name and that student got to pick any activity they wanted and when that was done we did one of the relaxation ones (Flow and Airtime) to finish up. The only part I didn't like was there were some videos on there that didn't really have motions/movements associated with them. My students would just stand there and stare, they didn't move, they just wanted to watch the video. My students were really excited to watch their "champ" grow and I would print the certificates and hang them in the room, they were so proud of themselves. I highly recommend using it in your class this year!! Good luck and have fun!

Question...Is there a cost for it? I went the other day thinking it was 'free' and then wasn't sure.

When do you use it? Is is best after a lesson -like transition times? Do the kids have a hard time getting settled back down after dancing etc? Would love to know more about it. Thanks!

We did the Flow or Airtime

after one of the other activities and that would settle them down so they were ready to sit and listen. My students loved Airtime! Airtime is deep breathing with a bubble, then afterwards it would give facts about a state, so your class travels around the United States. I usually used Gonoodle before teaching a lesson to get their wiggles out.

I have been using go noodle this year. They love any of it. I use it to break up our long day after lunch. We have encore classes 9:30 to 10:25 and then lunch 10:35 to 11:05. We do learning until 2:00 p.m. So, I usually do one when we get back....then about 1:00 p.m. and then we go to recess at 2:00. They love all of them even the stretching ones. They ASK for go noodle so I do them as an incentive!

It's free but I think you upgrade it somehow and pay something. Only thing I don't like is that some of them are on you tube and our school has you tube blocked so we can't access those!

You can play the Youtube videos right from Gonoodle and even download your own favorites from Youtube onto Gonoodle to play.

We use AirTime (breathing + journey across America) and a monkey Yoga activity each day before RtI time. They seem to enjoy it. The girls and I also used a Zumba activity while the boys had a special assembly last week. My class is impressed with the fraction bar that slowly fills up after each workout and the funny comments our little avatar guy makes.

I've seen the field games in action as well as some of the others. Kids love them and a great incentive to get the room tidied up!

Personally I wish they had some more "traditional" songs for kids with a good beat and more variety of style, rather than the rappish Koo Koo Ranga Roo tunes (and personally I find those guys a little creepy) but maybe that will come.

Sos1, I agree about the songs. We just tried "Jamboree" and it became an instant favorite, along with "Ants in Your Pants".
