I'm in a bidding war with someone on eBay over some discontinued cologne for my husband! it has two hours to go. So far I've only bid twice, and was outbid both times. What's the best way to try to win? Wait until the last moment? Give me your tips!!

You could try sniping at the last minute, but ultimately you have to decide how much it's worth to you and just put your max bid in and hope. Good luck.

I agree with Hifiman. Put your highest bid that you are ok with paying and just let the computer bid for you.

It's an old Avon cologne, of all things! I just love it on him because it's what he wore when we first were dating. He likes it too. It's on eBay at Buy Now prices of about $60 and up, but our bidding started at $30, so maybe I can get it for less. If not, I'll probably give in and buy the more expensive one that is a sure thing. Cross your fingers for me!

Well, I lost! But...I was fine with it. I did some looking around and found the cheapest one (same cologne and size, etc) for $48 at Buy It Now price. So I put in $47 as my max bid, and lost at the last minute. It sold for $53. So I just bought the other one and figure it all worked out!
