Earlier someone mentioned watching a video before attempting to cut your own bangs. My hair has been driving me crazy so I watched a video and trimmed my own bangs. I didnít take a lot off, just enough to get them out of my eyes. I feel much better now.

I'm totally impressed. If I cut my hair, it would be a huge disaster and I'd be staying away from EVERYONE till it grew back out and a professional did damage control!

Cutting my own bangs

I'll be forced to do that, too, sooner rather than later.
But NO way would I go out for a haircut during a pandemic. Grocery shopping is stressful enough!

I'm not letting scissors near my hair! I'm buying hair clips next time I'm out!

I cut my own bangs all the time. I've done it for years. I have a low tolerance for short or long bangs. I cut them just a tiny bit about every 10 days.

Now DH needs a haircut - I'm not about to attempt that. He's going to get a bit scruffy before this is over.

Congratulations. I trimmed my medium length curly hair a few days ago. I don't have the courage to look in the back to check for accuracy and really don't care. My hair feels healthy at least.

Anna, I have curly medium length hair also. I was sitting at my computer one day a few weeks ago and got tired of pushing it back off my face. So I grabbed the scissors on my desk and pulled the wastebasket over, and whack, whack, whack...

I didn't care. It's curly; it doesn't have to be a straight, even cut. Felt great. I still don't care. I'm retired.

Good point timeforbed. I'm retired too. Why should I care? Curly hair does hide a lot!

Congrats!

I've been cutting my own hair (all of it) for the past 30 years
(I do have curly hair, which is more forgiving, but I also straighten it quite a bit)

When I decided to give myself bangs from no bangs, that was a challenge. Once I had them, it was easier to trim them. It was really hard to figure out how much hair (and from where the take the hair) to get the bangs I wanted. Now that they have long grown out, I debate cutting them again every so often.

My regular haircut was supposed to be

next week. I still have thick hair and typically wear it short. I hate when it gets much length because it takes forever to dry it with a hair dryer and the weight of it makes it sag down onto my forehead and neck. It also begins to flip in weird places because it has some natural waves, plus some cowlicks. I really prefer to go every 4 weeks and even more often in hot weather months. My color is also going to look bad in another two weeks. It's starting to show the gray a little around the margins and in the part just a bit now. I am retired, too. I confess to having occasionally trimmed just a bit on my bangs along the neckline and on the sides if they don't do what I want for one too many times with the hair dryer. I despise to use the curling iron because I always burn myself with it every time I attempt to use it.
I already bought some hair clips but I have way too much hair for them to do much good, I fear. I do have some elasticized headbands but that doesn't look too good either. I am considering making myself a few turbans if the lockdown goes on much longer.

DH cuts his own hair anyway, and my mom cut hers last week. She always cuts hers between trips to the salon. I used to cut my own, too. Well, technically I still do. DH cuts my hair every time he cuts his. Of course, my ďout in societyĒ hair doesnít grow, so Iím all good. I did recently purchase something new, and it needs cutting. My stylist told me what I needed to do to trim everything. I just havenít done it. Not like Iím going anywhere.

I cut mine. It turned out ok. They say maybe six months so this could get interesting.

I got my hair cut short a few months ago. Guess I'm growing it out now!

When I read your title all I could hear

All I could hear from your title was Miranda Lambert singing ®I cut my bangs with some rusty kitchen scissors®. My dd 14 sings that song all the time on her spotify. She loves some angry woman songs.
