What are you currently working on in math? Curious about where everyone is at!! How you worked on elapsed time yet?!

We're wrapping up mult/division. We haven't done elapsed time yet.

I think they are working on graphing...or they were.

Being departmentalized, I have no idea what my kids are doing in the other classes!

I'm currently working on multiplication strategies (Chapter 5 in EDM4). I did elapsed time at the beginning of the year.

GO Math

In Go Math I am finishing chapter 10 which covers elapsed time. I teach a T-Chart strategy (look it up on youtube). My kids usually do quite well with it. The book also uses a number line. I prefer the TChart. We have to cover two more chapters before state testing which takes place the end of March. UGH! I have to teach perimeter/area and geometry. Then I have to do a quick review to make sure everyone retained what we've done. I hate how we have to teach 12 chapters before state testing which is the end of March, but the end of the school year isn't until June!

Finishing up mult. and division and skipping to fractions. The PARCC is coming up and last year it was fraction heavy. Yay PARCC

I thought the PARCC last year was fraction heavy also. I've started with the fraction basics, but my math program (EDM4) hasn't covered enough skills with them yet. I may have to start weekly practice with that soon!

enVision series has us in graphing. Addition and subtraction within 1,000 is next, then fractions.

We are half way through module 3 which is the 2nd multiplication unit. I was just looking at our pacing calendar and I feel so far behind. We are barely going to touch on fractions before the SBAC starts. I am hoping to convince my grade level partner to skip module 4 so we can hit fractions first and then go back to 4.

We are wrapping up fractions and will be doing geometry next week. We have not done elapsed time, or any clock work yet.
