Monday back to normal

DH has been off work for 3 weeks and I’ve enjoyed having him home even though it messes up my daily solo routine. He goes back to work tomorrow. I’m sad about that. He doesn’t usually take off such a big chunk of time all at once. The 3 weeks are the closest to how it will feel when both of us are retired. I already told him when he retires he’ll be joining Planet Fitness too. He works out at the gym on base now. I look forward to him going to PF with me and our having time to do more camping, working in the yard/garden, and his working on the “Honey Do” list.

Will you be getting “get back to normal” in any way on Monday?

I will be taking down the Christmas lights outside and start putting all the ornaments away. I took a break from the gym for the last 5 days and will head back on Tuesday.

Monday is the day we have our grandson for the day, so that will be back on schedule. Tuesday I'm taking down the Christmas stuff, and I can't wait to get that done. Then a couple of appointments this week, and I hope to get started on getting some stuff done that was put off until after the holidays. I'm looking forward to more relaxing days!

I'm not sure what 'normal' is anymore. I was thinking about not having to go out in the cold to start the car, drive to work and do recess duty in the freezing weather.

I love retirement.

Yesterday was one of those unique days where I said how glad it is to be retired. Even though I have lots to do now,I still wish I was in classroom with my first graders (sigh). But ...

I was feeling really down in the dumps physically, like Im getting a bug. So many times I would push forward and get to school anyway and be miserable all day. But this time, I made some green tea and went back to bed! No sub plans to stress about. So great to be retired!
