Being petty and I like it

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Before retiring almost seven years ago I was the unpaid technology person at my school. I fought for years to try to convince my coworkers to adopt technology. They were a pencil and paper back to basics group and wanted no part of it. Even getting them to use email was a battle. All the wonderful equipment sat unused. Now I am hearing from people who havenít said a word to me since I left. Everyone wants me to set up their online classes for them. Not show them how but do it for them. I said I would be glad to help. I asked whether the school wanted to pay my consultant fee or would they pay me personally. No takers yet.

Good for you! I'm glad you are not going to do any set-ups without pay. Some people just have nerves of steel. Be strong and don't help

I donít think itís petty at all. This would irritate me : ďNow I am hearing from people who havenít said a word to me since I left.Ē

The district is responsible for providing the help their employees need. I wonder if it does but the people contacting you donít want to admit to their employer how ignorant and unskilled they are when it comes to technology.

you might want to contact administration and offer your services. But only if you negotiate for worthwhile pay that won't interfere with your pensions.

I do love your response!

You deserve compensation for the energy you would be putting out.
