Just canīt wrap my brain...

I just canīt wrap my brain around why anyone keeps gathering at this point, but especially churches. It seems like there are so many churches in the news that are determined to continue gathering. Why? Why would a church leader take a chance on endangering his/her congregation?

The longer folks gather publicly, the longer this pandemic lasts. We pay the price for their self-centered behavior.

It blows my mind! So much for caring for the welfare of others.

I have no clue. Second question is why

would church members feel compelled to put themselves and their families in danger? They will defy the government when it comes to common-sense measures to protect their health, but how many will refuse medical treatment or try to treat themselves at home in order to protect those who followed the rules? I think the church leaders see the possibility that their flocks might dwindle after the pandemic, so they want to make sure they get their donation baskets filled while they can.

Plus, I haven't seen any TV preachers inviting infected people up to the podium to be healed, have you?

I saw a pastor interviewed on TV

who was still having church meetings at church. His congregation is poor. Few have computers or internet connection. The pastor feels they need him and the human connection since they do not receive it online. He seemed sincere and not strange or unusual. I still don't believe they should meet in person but understand better why some feel they must. I would be lost without my computer and internet connection.

But there are many, many, people

gathering for many, many reasons, not just churches. Funerals, weddings, birthday parties, afterwork beers, beach bashes. Many ridiculous people thinking their reasons are exceptions to the rules. Just like always.

Plus, I expect the media is highlighting the behavior because it's unusual. Most churches, like mine, are closed, and publishing on-line services.

I am fed up with anyone gathering for any reason at all. Even families that don't seem to understand. I know tons of people are just stupid and selfish. It just puzzles me about the churches and what their though process could possibly be.

We aren't allowed to have meetings of more than 6 people unless it's a funeral. Then 10 are allowed.

Regarding the churches that do still gather, I don't know why they'd do that and risk the health of so many either. Perhaps the pastors' mentality is that since this is for Godly purposes that God will protect them from getting covid, so they don't fret about it much? Who knows.

A pastor was arrested and fined $500 for encouraging folks to go to church. All churches here are closed!

Still gathering

If my church was open I would be there. As a Christian I believe I serve a supernatural God. I believe Jesus rose from the dead, he rose Lazarus from the dead, he join Daniel in the lion’s den, and Shadrach,Mesach and abednigo in the fiery furnace, and that Christians will be persecuted. I have to obey and worship trusting in full faith He is worthy and will protect the wholehearted. He did not remove Daniel from the den or the three from the furnace rather he joined them and they came out the other side sanctified. My eternal life is real to me. Hebrews 10:25-27states clearly do not stop gathering especially as you see the day drawing near.

I'm a Catholic, so today is Palm Sunday. Our priest flew in an airplane over our house to bless us with Holy Water. He went over our whole county and aired it on Facebook so you could follow him the whole way. So, we are not gathering here and I'm glad.

The Catholic Bishops in Ohio shut things down early. I was impressed that they sent a notice out that fish on Friday’s (abstinence) was not necessary because they didn’t want people feeling like they need to go to stores. Ohio has really impressed me throughout this ordeal.

I have a friend from HS who is now ultra-religious/conservative. She's been posting all kinds of nonsense on FB from her church about how they will keep meeting. I didn't fact check this so hopefully it's not true, but according to one of her posts there has been at least one state who has declared churches "essential" and they are still allowed to hold large services.

Just today she had some sermon up there about how Dr. Faucci is in the "rat in the white house" who is "leading everyone astray." At first it was comments about this is all a hoax, now she/her church seem to be on the "5g is causing this" conspiracy train.

I originally thought maybe they'd see the light if church members started getting sick. I'm guessing that has happened, so now they need another explanation. They have to acknowledge people are getting sick, so it's the 5g thing. In their minds gathering makes no difference because we're all getting sick from 5g anyway, not from each other .

Unless government rules oppose God, I’ll obey the authorities.

I saw today that 14 states have deemed churches "essential" and are allowing them to hold services. I don't get it. My mom has strong Christian beliefs and chose not to attend her church's drive up service a week ago because she thought it would be too tempting for people to get closer than the suggested 6 feet. This week they took their service online.

There are people that think they can’t get sick in church. That God somehow protects them. Just plain ignorance.

And greed the pastors don’t want to loss their money.
