Positive thoughts

My dh's brother is back in the hospital in CT. He was taken in a few days ago with cognitive issues. He was acting crazy. He tested negative for Covid, but positive for pneumonia and Shingles. He was in for a few and released 2 days ago. Last night in the middle of the night he was again acting and feeling crazy and they called an ambulance for him. He was in the ER until this evening and a bed opened up for him. No idea what is going on.

He lives with his 80+ year old dad and another brother in his late 40's. THey don't know what is going on and neither does my dh, although you would think he was a doctor from the diagnosis's I have heard him make.

Anyway, would be awesome if they could make a good diagnosis and treat him.

I hope they check for a UTI. Just went through the weirdness with somebody who was in the hospital and when I pushed the doctors to test for a UTI, that was the problem. They started the antibiotics and it took care of the problem quickly.

I am praying for your dear DBIL! I also was thinking UTI. Low B12 can also cause that and so could a change in or a new medication. Please let us know how he is doing!

That's scary. I hope they are able to find out what is going on with him. I also wondered about UTI, based on what I learned from PT previously! Thinking of him and hope he finds out what is going on soon.

Painkillers?

When my Mother was on painkillers she had a true break from reality. When she was in hospice they placed her on one of these medicines and she was out of her mind - my sister and I were with her at the time.

I know this is out in left field (wrong season) but he should be tested for Lyme disease.

Good luck to your family.

I hope there are some definitive answers very soon. From what I read shingles can cause neurological symptoms. He must be miserable. Best wishes for him and your family.
