audio books, I need help

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am writing a grant for Fire 7 tablets and some audio books.

My goal is to have a way for my low readers to listen to their chapter books being read while following along with the book in their hand. They would use this during SSR time. (6th and 7th graders)

My question: Is there a way to purchase audio books and download them to the tablet without having a subscription to an app like audible.com? Surely this exists! ~audible.com is $14.95 a month~ no school discounts

If you can download the book to the tablet without the need of a monthly subscription app, surely you can download an audio book without a subscription...

gets you one book a month, and I'm not sure what the limit is on number of appliances for downloading.

You can, indeed, download from the library. My library app removes the book from my device after the loan period expires, here at 3 weeks.

You can record the books yourself on CDs or old fashioned cassette tapes. It takes a long time to record, but you can use them whenever you want and keep for as long as you want. Not sure if this would work, but you might recruit some community theatre people to read the chapter books you want.

You might try this search result, but the vast majority seem to be picture books.
