Fine motor threading activity Zoom

Hey all!
Happy mothers day to all the mothers.

I am supposed to do a fine motor threading activity with my class (2-5 yr olds) via zoom tomorrow and it is supposed to be a 30 minute session. But honestly I am not sure how to make it 30 minutes because threading/ beading on pipe cleaners or string can be pretty quick.

Any ideas on how to extend this activity?

Thanks

I would incorporate little finger play songs.

Can you add a book that you could read that has something about sewing?

Or even Eensy-Weensy Spider with hand motions--call it a warm-up for the fine motor.

Who is making you do 30
Minutes on Zoom with 3-5 year olds! They are insane! Have we completely forgotten kids attention spans in this time of distance learning? I keep seeing these insane class times on Zoom. My 6th graders are good for about 15-20 on zoom and then they are done.

I don't have a book unfortunately. I can do finger songs like you mentioned. Thank you!

You could use the beads to review colors. You could encourage language I having each child show the finished product and tell which bed is their favorite color.

Yes! That is way too long for little kids! People have list their head when they begin requiring little ones to follow a zoom lesson for that long!

Has your director tried teaching a zoom lesson? Because my kinders, who are mostly 6, are DONE at the 30 minute mark. Doesn't matter what we are doing, even my high flying kids with super attention spans can't do it.

Children at that age don't tend to stay focused on ANYTHING for 30 minutes. Not even their absolute favorite activity one-to-one with their teacher/parent/bestfriend. A 30 minute "instructional" video for this group is crazy. How about 5-10 minutes and include large motor activity.
