What is it a picture of? I see the T looks like a person but what would it be next to?

The white space to the left of the ‘teacher’ could be a student with their hand raised.

We have had this conversation over the years.

I always have to look at it a second time because at first glance it looks like a gun. I’m glad to learn Linda’s DH saw that too.

I’ve never figured it out either. I see the P as an alien pupil with a big pupil and the T as a teacher pointing him out the door. I know, I’m odd.

I’m trying, but I can’t see a gun. Hints?

This conversation comes up every few years. From a post in 2017:
Quote:
It's actually an adult holding a child's hand. (The child is in the white negative space between the P and the T. The adult is the blue T.)
Since it comes up so frequently, maybe it's time to design a new logo! I sense a contest coming . . .

OHHHHHHHHH!! Now I see it, but it still took me a minute! The circle in the P is the child's head!

I've also seen a gun in the past, or just a big P and T usually.

It took me quite a while to see the white space. I also thought it looked like a gun or a person pointing away.

I never really looked at it! I can see the child holding a hand after given the hint about it.

i don't believe it's a teacher holding a child's hand.

many years ago, admin held a contest (we used to have occasional contests here, but it's been a long while...) to see if we could figure out what it was....my recollection is that it is a child raising his hand (seated at desk) and teacher hovering over to help.

i could not find that thread---probably because it was a pinned admin thread....

I won that contest. I miss the old days where admin did things here and there to involve its members.

I remember discussing the logo over the years.

I remember the contest days.

This week, I was actually looking at the logo &

thinking how difficult it is to “see” what’s it intending.

It looks more like a gun.

Might be time for a newer & “clearer” version of the logo.

I also am a former contest winner. Actually, I think I may have won twice. But maybe not, that was a very long time ago and I might not be remembering correctly.

Yes, I remember long ago discussions about the logo and most posters think it has a gun in it.

eta: I just did a quick search, and found one contest that I won in early January 2014. There were three winners in that contest. I’m pretty certain I also won another contest, where I was the only winner.

I remember the contest days! (I had a different name then.)

I think it looks exactly like a student raising a hand. I had to be shown the teacher. I can't see the gun unless I really use my imagination.

It took me a couple of minutes to see the student in the white space, and I remember having this conversation before .

I won a drawing here on PT and got a $50 Amazon gift card! It was a long time ago- can't remember how many years now.

Nice sleuthing, Suez!! I didn't know that about the logo. I think I was still posting without an actual "membership" at that point. (I started in fall 2006 and didn't sign up until fall 2007).

It sure was nostalgic to see some of our old friends on that thread who don't post anymore (or maybe do, but under different names and I don't know it).

I've never won anything here! Except friends

Awe -- I'm so glad you consider friends a nice win.

I won a couple of gift cards but they both had to be used in the states (I live in Canada). One was for Crate and Barrel so I spent it on a layover in San Fransisco. Bought a salt and pepper set, and lugged it around Australia and New Zealand.
The other one was for Amazon.com. I sent it to my niece who lives in California. I hope she used it!!

Not too hard. Just know how to use quotation marks and such. I used to do a lot of googling when my students tried to plagiarize! Teaching math and Science now so I don't use the skill as much.
