Hey all. I'm kinda desperate now.

I need advice.

I taught the past 2 years in an inner-city elementary school for 4th grade in California. I quit in June and moved way to go back to myou home state to be with family. I now cannot find a job with 1 week until school starts...

I have a Masters in Education. A bachelor's in business and marketing. I also have 8 years experience working in child care and 1 year in Sales.

My income is gone and I only have 1k in savings so I am hurting for a job now.

I'm so sorry to hear this MnToCa! I know that many districts underestimate how many teachers they need and then hire in the first month. Hopefully this happens and you get a call!

In the meantime, subbing or being a para can be an option. Not as much money, sure, but it's better than nothing.

In my state there were a whole bunch of jobs that just popped up. Some districts wait until they actually see who shows up before they hire. So some may be hiring after school starts. But, you could sub and still have a job everyday if you do enough districts. In a lot of places this is a way to get into the district. Or you could try to get a job in one of the other fields you are qualified for and then keep looking for jobs.
