If your house number was your monthly grocery budget, how would you be faring? What is something you absolutely must buy with that budget? Mine is 104. I’d be in trouble, but I would go for the meat aisle and get some hamburger.
Lord have mercy. I’m enjoying thinking about how to spend my $7000 budget. I think I’d hire my colleague to cook for me. He’s quite the chef! I think I’d change where I shop to go to the fancy grocery stores and buy organic.
I'd have over 1300 dollars! Can I just hire a chef to make dinner daily? I know he/she wouldn't do it for all three meals, but one maybe. Maybe I'd do a meal program of some sort.
LMAO, my house number is in the 5-digits (over 15,000), so I think I'd have a lot of left over food! Even for the 5 of us, that would be way too much food. It would actually probably last us 8 years. Or we could eat out like kings for a year
If this comes to pass, you're all invited to my house for dinner!
Anyone want to volunteer to cook the food I'll pick up?

Mine is 5 digits, but at least the first number is 1! Like others in that boat, I'd be living the high life that's for sure! But can you imagine if your first number was 9 with 5 digits???
I'm 414 and that would be plenty for us. :-) but it's just two of us. I'm not sure what I spend on groceries, but it's not that. Even before the pandemic I didn't go on a regular schedule, but when I needed to ( not a chore I enjoy!) I usually don't spend more than $100 a couple times a month plus small trips.( which I hate doing even more, haha)
...um... rice and beans. Some essential dairy. I’m thinking we’d become unintentional vegetarians Maybe ration a seed packet here and there to eventually grow my own veggies. Probably a food bank too.
This is a great perspective. There’s probably a lot of people that are making some really hard decisions now and my family and I are really blessed that we can buy groceries easily.
