Just heard of the passing of Alex Trebek while watching local news. He always presented such a strong attitude but I had also heard he was truly fighting through some very difficult times behind the scenes.
I'm at a loss for words...
I'm so sad to hear this. I've been a Jeopardy fan for years and it will be so different without him. We even toured the Jeopardy facility at Hollywood a few years ago. Included was one of the pages he read off of and marks with an X after someone answers. Very interesting!
I was afraid when I saw the headline that was what it was going to say. I heard he stopped treatment, so I was not surprised. I admire his courage in continuing to film episodes.
Who is going to be missed as the Jeopardy host by millions?
The answer is: Alex Trebek
Jeopardy has been a tradition in my family for years! We've watched everyday since I was little! I know he was dealing with pancreatic cancer, and I know that is a brutal one, but I thought he was doing well.
Side note, one of my memories of Sean Connery is him on the SNL celebrity Jeopardy, and he just died last week.
We used to watch the show while our sons played in the same room. One day, one of the boys pointed at the television and said “that man’s name is Alex Quebec”. Of course, it was especially funny because he is Canadian.
I cried when I heard this earlier today. He's been "coming into our home" for years. It's like losing an old friend. He was beloved by many and will be missed! I'm going to put his book on hold at the library right now while I'm thinking about it....
