I just love going to work when I feel valued and respected. I bounce into work early with a smile on my face that is genuine.

You may have been assuming that you're alone. Sorry, kid.

My life would not exist without my constant (and sometimes excessive) sarcastic personality.

This school year I have an amazing class of honors students. We often joke around and use sarcasm in a polite way to communicate. For those who say "Sarcasm never has a place in a classroom.", I'd invite them to see my class. I even told the class that they can choose the professional response or the sarcastic (yet still professional) response from me when they ask me a question.

Removing sarcasm from my life would be like removing the battery from me.

My son has a tshirt that says 'sarcasm is my native language'. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that he's my child.

When Iím asked what I miss most about the NE, I say, ďDiners and sarcasm.Ē

Unless itís cruel, I find sarcasm hysterically witty.

I think many people confuse sarcasm with rudeness. I'm never sarcastic with my students until I'm certain they understand my motivation - but I'm still quick to talk with anyone who looks defeated by a playful comment I make. It's all in the motivation and delivery, but it's necessary to survive the days at my school.
