Does anyone know where my teacher bag is?

This is the very first time in over 25 years that I have NO idea where I put my teacher bag when I came home on that final day of work 4 weeks ago. I kind of need it because it has my keycard to get into work.
Have you ever lost your stuff over the summer or is it just me this time? I guess I should make a good effort before Monday when I need to work in my room.
Oh, dear!

One year when I picked mine up to get ready, there was a spider living in it.

Hope you find it. Mine was laying beside my trash can where it has been all summer long.

It must be hiding in fear, not ready to admit that it's time to go back quite yet...

Trunk of your car?

I had a 30 second panic attack going to work this morning because I realized I didn't have my key card. We have a newer building/more security and you have to swipe constantly to get to different sections of the building. After getting tired of digging around for it in my teacher bag, I started putting in my car console every day as soon as I got in the car after work, so it would be there in the morning. Then I remembered oh yeah, I don't have it yet because it's the first day. We turn them in over the summer. My brain is not ready for working!

In a closet? Perhaps under something or hanging on a hook. Under your bed?

Mine is still hanging in my bedroom on a clothes stand. I'll be retired 3 years this fall
Good luck on finding it. Let us know!

Idk, but one summer I forgot a banana in mine and then found a black, mummified peel 7-8 weeks later. What amazed me is I walked by it daily and never noticed any sort of smell!

Check your closet. That's where I kept mine all summer. I put it under the clothes that hang on the bottom part of my closet. It was tucked in the back out of the way.

We already started back, so mine is following me everyday again.

Places I have found mine:
  • under the dining table
  • back of my closet
  • in the garage
  • tucked into the storage room
  • in the back of the car

Good luck!

Back when I had a commuter car (separate from the one I'd load for camping trips or beach trips), the trunk of my car would have been a likely place to look. When I finally cleaned out that car to sell it, I couldn't believe how much school stuff had been living in the trunk of that car for, literally, years. I have also found it in my garage, hidden behind camping gear.

When I had to start using a keycard (as opposed to keys or a fob, which could live on my keychain all summer) I started doing what Haley23 does: keeping it in my car console every day. After spending decades learning how to keep from mislaying keys, that was a difficult transition for me.

I know that my bag is sitting in the corner of my attic closet, untouched since I brought it home. I'll never use it again but I need to go through it soon because there are probably things in there that DGS can use for school rather than having to buy them.

Good luck finding it!

All great ideas. I have already cleaned out the back seat and trunk of my car since then. I have a few corner spaces to check. I hadn't thought of my car console for the keycard because I always left it in the bag. I don't think I had anything to work on in the bag since I turned in my computer.
I'll report back when I find it. Gotta go do a few more errands and then it's hunting season for the school keycard!!!!!

Can you think of what you did when you first went home that day? Maybe check where that first activity was?

Once I found my lanyard on the top shelf of my closet. That's where I keep the unsorted socks....and I don't really remember going straight to do laundry, but I guess that's what happened.

I've also found "lost" library books by the washer because I got home from my trip and started laundry.

Obviously, doing laundry is my downfall!
