Son going to sober house for 30 days

My son is an alcoholic.
He was in an outpatient intensive group therapy program via telehealth. He continued to drink and so is refered to this more intensive program.
(More details in my post on Christ Followers.)

My heart is breaking. Please pray.

son struggling with addiction

Just remember that your heart can also be rejoicing in that he is trying to get some help. My dear younger brother could never admit he was an alcoholic and so died of liver disease at the young age of 36. The only so-called help he got was being ordered to attend AA after losing his license due to drunk driving. And he still claimed he wasn't an alcoholic. I will pray for your son in hopes that this helps him. The disease is such a torment both to those who have it and to their families. It is so heartbreaking to see people that we love in a battle for their very lives against an addiction that really brings no joy to anyone. And it is a battle only they can fight even if give them all the support they need. My heart is with you.

I am glad your DS is going into a more intensive program. He admits he has a problem which is a difficult thing to do. I will be praying for your dear son and you.

I have a brother who is an alcoholic. He will not get help. He has stopped drinking at times, but something happens and he starts up again. It is a hard disease.

Praying. I'm glad he is getting help, though. My SIL has had 4 OWI's and lost 2 jobs because of his drinking but still doesn't think he needs help.

Emerald City...I'm glad he's going. I know the heartache this is because my nephew is a drug addict. I see what it's done to his family and all of us. It's awful. I hope this helps him. I'm sorry you are going through this.

He is safe for the time he is there. Use this time for yourself. Sleep well, eat healthy, excersize, join some Al-Anon meetings (saved my sanity).

Prayers for your son and you. I know that your heart is breaking, but fingers cross that this is where he needs to be to beat this horrible disease that not only hurts him but those that love him. (My dad was an alcoholic so I know the heart break of this hideous illness).

It's so hard to see our adult children go through things knowing we can't fix them anymore. My heart breaks for you, but I will definitely be praying for him and for you.

We dropped him off this afternoon.
He is in PHP, partial hospitalization program. We won't see him for 30 days.
I talked to my sponsor yesterday. We aren't having F2F yet in our area, so I am going to have to start doing online. I have my own work to do.
I miss him already.
But I am thankful he is getting more treatment.

Nathan's birthday is tomorrow :(

I am calmer about him being away, but it is difficult that we will not see him on his birthday.
I will be having a tooth pulled so my attention will probably be distracted.
I have found an online Al Anon meeting that is every night at 7pm.
I talked to my sponsor. No F2F meetings are happening at this time.
One day at a time.
Thank you for listening to me.
