iPad apps for Primary Letters, Sounds, Writing

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am a Reading Recovery teacher and am trying to fnd iPad apps that I may integrate into my lessons with my first graders as well as interventions with Kindegartners. Specifically apps that:

-allow student to sort letters that I have desiganted.Ideally with an option of more than one font and a mix of upper and lowercase

_ letter formation- for them to write themselves and other apps to trace letters- again, both upper and lowercase

_ apps that combine vowel sounds with visual to practice auditory discrimination

- allow students to write indeividual words- using a stylus or their finger- whatever

-left to right sweep, visual discrimination, 1:1 correspondence -maybe some gamelike practice

Anything else you think would help them learn! I am also very open to apps to recommend to parents to use to practice these skills at home in a more game-like manner.
Thanks in advance to all!!

I like "Touch and Write." It doesn't do all the things that you're looking for, but it is a great app.
You can add in your own words (sight words, names etc.)
It also teaches letter names, letter sounds, letter formation.
Here is an iTunes preview:

_ letter formation- for them to write themselves and other apps to trace letters- again, both upper and lowercase ABC PRO is a free app, Handwriting Without Tears has a letter / number formation app - you do have to pay for it

- allow students to write indeividual words- using a stylus or their finger- whatever. there are free apps like Doodle Buddy or Chalkboard for this

-left to right sweep, visual discrimination, 1:1 correspondence -maybe some gamelike practice. i would check into the kindle app or nook for 1:1 correspondence or left/right sweep

Excited to see what others suggest!
