My thoughts and prayers are with all of you this fall. None of you got the summer vacations of years gone by. So many of your trips and times with family had to be cancelled. Instead you had the question of how/if school would open this fall.

About this time this board would be filled with excitement of Target finds and new wardrobe additions. Ideas for quick healthy suppers would be shared along with the latest lunch box purchase, Concerns about class lists and new team members might be the 'hot topics' on the vent board.

Last December so many of you were weary, exhausted, and ready for the break...already stressed and wondering how you'd make it until May. You had no idea of the upheaval Covid19 would bring to your professional and personal lives in March, April, and May.

All this to say, I'm retired now but not a day goes by that I don't offer up a prayer for all of you still teaching and trying to make what you've always done work in this upside down world.
My heart goes out to you. ((((mhugs))))

Thanks!!! Our school board is meeting tonight.

On a side note I saw my dermatologist today for my annual skin check. He should know my age as my chart is right in front of him. ( 56) For at least five years now he's been asking if I retired. No! Today he said, " I bet you're glad you're retired now!" I told him I'm not retired, but I sure wish I was!

Honestly I'm told I look a bit younger than my age, so I don't know why he keeps saying it. Maybe the gray I'm getting in my hair and the fact that I've been at my school 31 years?? Idk!

Thank you, that is very sweet and kind of you. If this isn't a sign that it's time for me to retire (which I can do) then I don't know what is. I'm going back!

Thank you so much for thinking of us and remembering what things were like. So many things have changed, but a teacher's heart remains the same.

I appreciate your ongoing prayers and feel like I need them more than ever right now.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. I am 50 and have 17 years in. I was a SAHM so I started a little late. I enjoy teaching still but this year like you said it is hard to get excited with the fear and uncertainty we are all facing.

Thank you, I am very nervous about going back in. We are going into school - at least for now...
