Back to school is a busy time. What is the best part for you? What is the worst part for you?

Best part? Seeing my friends and getting back into a schedule.

Worst part? 1. Getting back into that schedule. I forgot makeup today! Yesterday I had to come back to give my dog her meds.
2. We start with kids on Monday next week. We have never done that before. We usually start on a Thursday, so 2 days to get set up and organized and on to work. The weekend is to recover, regroup and figure out whatever you forgot. No break this time until the whole week has happened. That is going to be hard.

Best part: seeing the kids for the first time. I love back to school night and the first day(s)/week.

Worst part: my admin, spending so much wasted time in useless messtings (especially this year). The fact that I'm not excited to go back.

But my favorite BTS activity was getting to know my new students. I tried to put them at ease and reassure them that we would have a good school year. I planned many fun get to know you activities. I loved watching their nerves and worries melt away and the smiles and giggles pop out.

I hated so much of the professional development at the beginning of the year. I wanted three days to work in my room and get everything ready. That never happened so I was up there early every year.

Other than the smell of new crayons, I love meeting my new class. The older I get, the cuter they are! First graders are so amazing, I just love getting to know what they are thinking and what makes them tick.

Worst part...the time crunch of getting everything done that needs to get done. Although, since I joined Angela Watson's 40 Hour Work Week Club, I've done much better at prioritizing and staying focused.
