I'm so excited! I will try to incorporate boom whackers this year. My students love reading elementary music. Most have been with me in a recorder ensemble for two years. I will be willling to listen to any advice about incorporating these into my afterschool program. Thanks!

I LOVE using boomwhackers. Pinterest has many other ideas for using them. This year, I have already used them to teach pitch and rhythm for my K-2 students. I want to use them in choir as well. For your recorder ensemble, you could have some students play melody on recorders and other students play chords on boomwhackers. Or, you could have all students switch between recorders and boomwhackers to play the melody. If you want to teach accents or expression, you can have students only play boomwhackers on sections of the music that need emphasis.
Hope this helps!
