I am looking for a blog or facebook group to follow that focuses on using technology. Is there anyone you follow? I am hoping to move into a tech position in my school and we have not had a tech teacher since I have been here - 13 years? I am the closest that we have come to having one. Interviewing this week and trying to put together some innovative ideas for lessons that aren't just doing slides or typing.

I had some wiki sites bookmarked that were awesome, but I haven't figured out where they moved to. I would love to see some year mapping for K-5.

Any sources?

Would you consider Twitter? I love Twitter and can give you a ton of people to follow on there if you would like. I only use it for work and it's my favorite for ideas!!

As much as I hate to add another platform to my over full life, sure, pass it on. I have an account, I just don't use it. I can start if it is worthwhile!

I follow these two websites - I get emails from them a couple of times a week. I don't read them all, but they have lots of ideas

An idea that our staff are really embracing is using book creator - my class use the online version, but others use the ipad app. We are looking at really levelling up our books though - for example hyperlinking to create clickable contents pages, invisible sound for multi choice questions, adding in videos and drawings, and sharing them in innovative ways that we couldn't with one copy of a book we made on paper . Using it as more than just a publishing tool, looking for what the technology can do that pen and paper can't. That is my usual philosophy when I'm looking to level up, why use the tech if you're just typing up a story - what makes it better or more engaging?

Set up my twitter account. Already got lost looking around starting at an Edcamp I went to yesterday.... Will start throwing your "tags" (what do we call them?) and won't get anything done today.

I have recently used book creator and I didnít understand some of the terms you mentioned. What is hyperlinking to create clickable contents and what is invisible sound for multichoice questions?

I haven't played with book creator yet (on the long, long list) but hyperlinking to create content would be adding a link to another web site that you could get information on. Say I wrote a story on Morris the Moose, I could have a link attached to a page with information on moose.

Another use for that could be a make your own ending book where you have to hyperlink choices for what happens next.

Invisible sound, I am not sure about but am thinking that it is just a sound that occurs and you aren't anticipating it? Click on a link and a bird chirps.... No sure about that one.
