Clip to ScrapBook #1

I want to make a nice wishlist display for our back to school night and I need some ideas. Does anyone else make wishlist displays? I'd love to hear your ideas or see pictures!

Some teachers do a large tree and write items on apples. That way, parents can "pick" an apple of an item they would like to provide.

I wish I could, but a lot of my parents can not afford to buy their child's school supplies. So displaying a wish list in my classroom would be a joke Not to mention, I usually only have about three parents show up on back to school night. Maybe one day I'll be able to.

Cute idea! I would have these on my wish list:

Chlorox wipes
Dry erase makers and socks (for erasers!)
Kleenex
paper towels
Hand Sanitizer

I teach junior high - this means during Open House I meet with groups of parents in 10 min intervals leaving no time for selection from a board wish list. I do inform parents that a wish list of classroom community supplies can be found on my website if they would like to donate something. I list items such as baby wipes, hand sanitizer, glue sticks, loose leaf - - things for student use as needed.

Wish List

I have drawn a large tree on my white board and labeled it "The Giving Tree". Then I wrote each wish list item on an apple cutout and taped it to the board. Parents could just pull the apple off and take it with them. I found one very similar to mine on Pinterest:

I'm in a low income school, but there are always parents in the group that can afford to get something extra so I put up the tree and usually parents purchase about half the items on my wish list.

Items I've put on the wish list:
paper towels
bags of wrapped candy (Jolly Ranchers, Hershey's Kisses, etc.)
Clorox wipes
Paper plates
Capri Suns (I keep in the box until time for a class party)
Stickers

I also found some good pictures when I searched on Pinterest:
