I am not sure if I will have a new title this coming year. I've been changed every year for the past 3 years.
3rd grade to 4th grade (involuntary reassignment)
then
4th grade to 3rd grade (took the position so another teacher would not be involuntarily reassigned)
then
moderate/severe special ed. (involuntary reassignment)
I've asked to move back to gen. ed because I have no recent training in sped but I'm not hopeful
YAY for you, Seussical!! One of my long-time colleagues retired this June. He took an early retirement (just 3 years early, I think), but he's had some health issues [heart attack 9 years ago and recent ankle reconstruction]. I don't think the stress was getting to him (he NEVER seemed stressed), but I think he feels like he needs to do have time to do what he wants. :-)
His wife, whom I also love, is now going back to work full time (hospital bio tech). She said she has to get out of the house or they'll kill each other.
Then: 5th & 6th grade Resource Reading/ELA teacher
Now: Co-teacher; no news about grade or subject, which makes it difficult to plan. Oh, and I'll be doing a pull-out program somewhere in the day as well.
Then- 2nd grade, have spent 28 years in 1-3
Now- 6th ELA, 7th ??(study hall they are calling enrichment), 5th grade Social Studies and 6th grade Social Studies.
Then: Kindergarten teacher (loved it for many years...now, worried about what we are doing to young children)
Now: Retired (will volunteer a couple days each week)
Now: third, fourth and fifth split AND k-8 science
We added a middle school and I have become the defacto science specialist. One coworker is the social studies specialist and the other is acting admin.
