Self-Contained Classroom

Clip to ScrapBook #1

7th Year Special Education Teacher, new to Self-Contained/Severely Disabled. Always taught resource classes and this is nowhere near the same. I have high school age kids, but grade level between K-4. Have no clue how to manage classroom, keep kids occupied, don't know where to begin with academics. ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME.

I totally know how you feel! I was "thrown into" a self-contained classroom with no experience! Fortunately, my district sent me to a ton of excellent trainings my first year!

I can email you suggestions and some forms that I use if you'd like! I'm new to this site and not sure how to attach documents to a post!

Check out Unique Learning Systems and news2you.com. Great resource for multi-handicapped and low functioning high school students!
