Formal Observation

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I started teaching autistic support in a pretty nice suburban school district last year after a teacher retired mid-year. My principal did not do any formal observations because he knew the stress of job including behaviors and low academics and contentious parents (especially with a teacher change mid year). I got the contract and know that I will have 3 formal observations. I know the standard forms look for engagement, technology use, high level thinking, etc. My question is- I use pretty much all direct instruction. I use SRA Reading Mastery and Connecting Math. How do I make engaging lessons and incorporate teachnologt when they are scripted lessons? Any ideas???

Can you have a mini reinforcer at the end on a smartboard? There are lots of interactive websites that might be great and you could address social interactions.
