Reading Night Ideas?

I was in an IEP meeting and unable to attend the Reading Committee meeting, thus I was assigned along with another teacher a culminating activity for the school to take place at the end in the cafeteria. Lesson learned. Traditionally the evening starts with a short PTA meeting, then the students and parents go from pod to pod 1-5th for some type of a reading activity. Apparently, they are then to come back to the cafeteria for this final activity. Oh, and yes, it's next Wednesday! It should take about 15 minutes. Has anyone done something like this? Any brainstorms?

Is it parents and kids or just kids? What if you did "I have, who has" type of game? The parents of younger kids could help. It would be a nice way to end the night with everyone wandering around talking and interacting.

There's some nice ones on Pinterest that you could print on cardstock.

Or, you could keep it simple and read, "Oh, the Places You'll Go"

I would just search "I have, who has". You might also be able to find it here on PT.

I think parents would appreciate the book and it would be quicker, easier and less confusing.
