Clip to ScrapBook #1

Was if a full moon on Friday?

Our field trip had so many wacky things that don't usually happen!
-chaperone didn't know she was picked, therefore no show!
-another chaperone's child was sick-didn't show
-bus mix up
-tantrums at the gift shop
-rained on us during outdoor lunch
-more children at the museum than ever before!

Good news is -it is over!

Truly, when it rains, it pours! Sounds like a nightmare, but you made it home in one piece.

Field trips are more exhausting than teaching all day! Glad you survived the craziness. In my school, for many years now, no one has been allowed to purchase anything on a field trip - no souvenirs, no snacks - chaperones cannot purchase anything for the kids, either. This saves a lot of tantrums.

If it makes you feel better- we once put in the wrong school when we requested buses. Got off and went in the wrong school and everything! Fortunately only one parent was there to witness our mess up, and the bus was able to get us to where we were actually supposed to be in time for the show 😂

Yes. There was a full moon on Friday. The residents at my mother's assisted living were all riled up. I felt sorry for the workers there.

I've had doozies before, no doubt. Our school doesn't have buses, so parents drive and chaperone. Teachers don't drive students in case we need to transport a student back to school. Students stay with who they rode with, and if they become a behavior problem, then we take them. We tell them that if they have to be brought to us, they will be driven back to school and possibly suspended.

In my 12 years, only had one kid who needed to return to school. All other field trips, the teachers have enjoyed a kid free day.
