I'm filling out a job application and it asks "What does 5 star service look like in the classroom"? I have no idea on how to answer this question.

I can't really help you with answer but the district we live in has that as their new motto for everything. I don't think they've really explained it to the parents or students but they certainly like to say that's what they're offering

I think they are looking for a response of how you will bust your butt to go above and beyond? My idea of 5 star service in the classroom would be small class size, appropriate plan time for teachers and recess time for students, a budget to supply the classroom instead of the teacher paying out of pocket, enough desks for all students, and technology that actually works.

I'm just guessing but I would think that communicating with parents would be a big part of it.

To me, "What does 5 star service look like in the classroom" puts the expectation on the teacher--how will the teacher provide 5 star service to parents and students?

But again, I'm just guessing.

All I can think of is "now we are in the restaurant business? Will we get Yelp reviews?" Not helpful but I am lacking sleep!

It means get the heck out because if they're asking about service you know who runs that district; the parents.

That question would be a HUGE red flag to me.

I am like Greyhound Girl. This would be a big red flag to me. Look at another district to work for.

put it in terms of student responsibility

I'd put it as expectations for students.
1. Students must be at school on time and stay the whole day.
2. Students must stay on task
3. Students must be respectful.
4. Students must try their best
5. Students must ask for help
