Yet another tipping question

Do you tip appliance delivery men?

I had a fridge delivered Christmas Eve and we tipped $20. The two of them seemed to think that was low based on their reaction. It was a easy, quick delivery.

I had a washer delivered today and they didnít seem to expect anything.

What should you tip appliance delivery people and how much does the day matter?

Bonuses question: what do you tip a nanny at Christmas?

I've never tipped an appliance or furniture delivery person and no one has ever seemed to expect it.

I'd be inclined to snatch it back with that attitude. (I wouldn't of course but I'd wish I had the nerve )

Iíve never thought about tipping appliance delivery people. I would love to know how others feel about that. My daughter was a nanny and received at least one weeks pay at Christmas. Sometimes more but she worked in NYC.

I have never tipped for appliance/furniture delivery. I tip waitstaff, hairdressers, and tour people

No. I generally don't tip salaried employees.

Yes. I tipped $20 for the delivery of a stove.

Generally I wouldn't tip for appliance delivery. However, if they delivered on Christmas Eve, I would have probably given them each $20. I would be thinking that their time could have been spent with family and they were missing out.

I havenít ever tipped anybody for a delivery. Though, in the situation described I may have with it being Christmas Eve.

When I was a nanny I wasnít tipped for Christmas but was always given a very generous gift card.
I give my cleaning lady a holding bonus equal to one cleaning.
