We use HWT and I absolutely hate it!

I would much rather do Zaner Bloser or D'Nealian.

I like HWT because you can also teach grammar and Greek and Latin roots while promoting cursive writing.

I like Zaner-Bloser. Simple, but effective. There are many free online videos that can help students with letter formation.

I use Printable Cursive. Costs $5 but I like the D'Nealian and the way they present it. They have 3 trimesters worth of work so the kids get really grounded in it.

Same letter formations, but the format is visually cleaner, so it's easier for students to understand, copy and learn.

How does it work that HWT has connections to roots in our language?
