Interview with superintendent

Hi, I had an interview today at a school and 6 hours later got a phone call asking if I can come in for an interview with the superintendent and they gave me the time to come in. They told me not to bring everything because they already have my electronic application. Iím guessing thereís probably other candidates being interviewed by the superintendent as well since I only had one interview at this school. What can I expect?

That actually sounds very encouraging

It is likely the final step in the hiring process.

In large districts, superintendents never meet candidates and the board hires them by adopting a consent agenda item listing all the new hires to make their employment official. It's an item in among items for additions to buildings and contracts for milk suppliers. Makes you feel really special.

At small districts, the new hires may be introduced to the board at a meeting to be made welcome.

The questions may be similar to ones you've already answered, but I'm guessing it'll mostly be a get to know you and see that you present yourself professionally. I expect you'll do fine.

All teachers do in my urban district.
The super was the one who went over salary, and we only chatted a few minutes before he officially offered the job I interviewed for.

Sounds very encouraging!

Itís not a situation Iím used to (in 25 years I have never even met a superintendent), but interviewing with the head honcho must be a good thing.
