What do you mean??? You don't have a book? Most reading series have lang. practice. (DOL) in teachers editions.

I have several books. I would like to type my own this year. I am looking to do something a little different. I am planning to make a book with morning wake ups. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I used DOL, I had transparencies that just had sentences that needed corrections. There really was no template to it, just numbered sentences and a separate answer key.

Hi Makayla - I don't know if this will help but to make DOL a bit more meaningful for my kids I am going to have a couple of kids write the daily newsletter each day and then the class is going to edit the newsletter.

What I did once was cut and paste (literally) a few lang. questions, math questions, etc. on one sheet. That way they had a variety of stuff on one sheet. I made copies for them and a transparency for me. It was a lot of work though. There is something called Daily Bites

http://www.dailybite.com/p3.html that has a variety of questions to use already on transparencies. It's $100!!!! I think it would be much more reasonable to make your own as all review is pretty much the same. But perhaps you could look at their example to get some ideas!

Makayla, Evan-moor has a DOL and Daily Math book. It's awesome! I was a third grade teacher last year and I used them in the morning. I'm moving to sixth next year and I'm going to use the Daily Math one-I'll be teaching Math/Science.
There are 36 weeks in the books (M-F). Each page has 2 days on it. So, the first week has Monday and Tuesday on it, the back has Wednesday and Thursday on it. Friday is on a whole page. They are great! What I did was combine the DOL and Math and put Monday of each on one page. So, there was DOL at the top and Daily Math on the bottom. They are half pages. Each day has 5 problems. I made my masters with the DOL and Math combined, then sent it to duplication at the district office. I had them bound it and turned it into a book. The books correlate to the national standards. Loved what I saw. I do agree $100 bucks is way too pricey! I am sure in the course of one school year I could put together that same program using materials I have here at school. All I need to do is type on my computer and hit save.

Education World has a growing collection of short paragraphs that could probably be copied and pasted. The corrections are also provided.

I scanned in a set of 100 pages that can be either copied or used as transparencies. There is also a score sheet for the kids to be able to keep track of their scores. It is good for 4th or 5th grade, mostly for review. I can email it to you if you send me an email at psaaty@gmail.com.

I use the Evan-Moor books and ADD math. I run off the ADD math sheets front and back so there are 6 days worth. The Evan-Moor Daily Language, Daily Geography, and cursive writing are all for a week. I hand all this out on Monday and the children keep it in their folders all week. We check it together daily.
