Back to school sales

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I just got the new Wal Mart flier in the mail and they have some major deals for school supplies. Example- crayons, notebooks, and folders are only 10 cents. The only downfall is that the sale doesn't start until July 9th which is this Sunday. Just thought I would give everyone the heads up.

I've been waiting for ours to get our supply lists posted. Seems like they are usually out except for this year when my family is vacationing too close to the beginning of school. I'm itching to get my children situated and pick up the stuff I want. Thanks for the notice!!

Dollar Tree

I went to Dollar Tree Monday and got some great things. I got large wall charts, desk tags, homework passes, calendar items, etc. It's really worth checking out, simply, because everything is just $1.00. Also, check out Target. I havenít gone yet but they usually have good sales.
Hope this helps.

Another Dollar Tree Find!

I found white mailing labels for ink jet printers today at Dollar Tree. There are 15 sheets...30 labels per sheet...450 total labels. Of course, they were $1. I use these all the time for labeling my classroom library books, labels for my students, etc., so I bought 10 packs!!!

Target stores should be setting the back-to-school supplies this week. I know that my store is. :-)

Binders

Has anyone heard of a really good deal on binders? I need a class set but I don't want to spend too much. They don't have to be top quality because they will just stay in the student's desks. They won't be taking these home. I buy other binders that I spend extra on because they need to be sturdy since the kids take them home everyday. I buy those in a six pack at Costco for 7.00 I think.

Folders

I always buy my folders for 10 cents, and hten end up returning them. Walmart always reduces them (before school starts) to 7 cents and then 5 cents. Sometimes I've gotten them for 3 cents!!

I have not noticed any sale ads yet, but I did receive my office depot teacher appreciation invitation for July 29th!

I'm looking for cheap binders too! I saw Walmart 97 cents but that's too much when you might have a class of 25-30.

especially if I 've already bought everything else.

Anyone see them cheaper please post!!
Thanks

Clipboards

I was at the dollar tree today and saw that they had the nice wood clipboards in their back to school stuff. The ones that I have in my classroom are old and totally trashed, so I bought a class set. I know that a dollar a piece is not "cheap," but I rarely see the nice ones for less than like $1.89.

I was at Wal-mart "dorm" shopping with my daughter yesterday and the school supplies were already out and they are priced at the advertised sale price already. Just for anyone wanting to get a jump on the mad rush tomorrow.

My mom called to tell me that Staples has folders (ones with the fasteners and without) on sale tomorrow, Sunday, July 9th for 1 penny each!!! That's right...1 penny each! There is a limit of 15 per guest, but if you know a few people that are willing to help (or if you can recruit your family members), it is definately worth the trip.

Sales

It may pay to check out the stores online before you head out.
Stores like Target, Staples, and Office Max often run different ads in different regions. The WalMart stores near me have good deals, but I have never encountered the prices listed by another poster. I live in Southern CA, and we don't always get the deals that some of you in midwest get.

Staples!!!
Old 07-09-2006, 05:58 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #15

Today I bough... at Staples
3 prong folders (asst. colors) 1 cent (limit 15)
sharpeners- 1 cent (limit 3)
1 box of 12 pencils- 1 cent (limit 3)

3 ring notebooks (the flimsy cover-fine for my class) 25 cents (limit 4)

I took my daughter with me and got what I needed. The cashier said he had to stick to the limit but suggested I take my stuff to the car and return as many times as I needed. We made two trips
