I've been suffering from bronchitis since Friday? I went to the doctor and got medicine and I'm feeling a little better. I'm still coughing, Should I go to school Tuesday?

it takes awhile to kick. I pushed myself, and went in when I was not 100% and ended up in the hospital (I also have autoimmune issues, so this experience might not be the same for most people). If you still have a cough that is really painful I would take the extra day. If the coughing won't effect your teaching go in.

Enjoy your Tuesday at home under the covers! Take your medicine, watch a good movie, and drink your juice!

I have had bronchitis twice as an adult, and both times, I remember being down for about a week. My son just had bronchitis, and the doctor kept him out of school for a week. I really felt like I pushed myself to go back to school after a week, but my son felt pretty good physically after the week. I guess his youth was working in his favor. My son's bronchitis was a little more serious because he has asthma. The doctor said if he was still coughing he could not go back to school. The asthma meds stopped the coughing within a couple of days.

I believe it took me a good week to feel a lot better. I was coughing something awful!

I wouldn't push it as bronchitis is one of those that can seem like it's going away, but will come back with a vengeance.

Enjoy your day tomorrow and think about staying home Wednesday too!

It all depends on if the bronchitis is viral (no cure) or bacterial (antibiotics work quickly). And it also depends a lot on if you have a delicate little airway and how serious the bronchitis is/was. If it was very close to being pneumonia, expect to be out a week or so and not feel quite like yourself for a while. If it was just a tiny bit of bronchitis perhaps you'll be out a few days and feel good in a week. If the bronchitis goes into a true pneumonia, then it could be months before you feel great again and maybe even two weeks of feeling awful

When I've had it, I have noticed when I did a lot of talking I also developed larangytis, so it might be a good idea to take one more day. Hope you feel better soon!

I got bronchitis back at Christmas, sat around for a week. Then went back to work and went to a doctor again because the rails and wheezing were still there after 3 weeks the doctor gave me antibiotics and the rails and wheezing were gone in a few days. I am still coughing just not as much. So I guess you could be coughing up to five weeks later. I really felt ok most of the time.
