Months of the Year Poems
Old 08-01-2006, 11:44 AM

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm hoping someone can help me find little poems for each month of the year. I think I originally found them on the now defunct Mrs. Henriksen's Poems page--

I still have the February one--It goes like this:

February, February,
Groundhog's Day, Groundhog's Day,
Washington and Lincoln, Washington and Lincoln,
Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day.

Each poem is the same format and can be sung to (can you guess?) Are You Sleeping?

Does anyone have the rest of the poems?

Thanks a lot!

Kathryn

Hi!
There's a website called the Internet Archive where they provide something called "The Wayback Machine". You can enter the URL of the site you want then click on one of the dates. (Actually, I don't know what the dates mean, but in this case, I had to click on the older dates to find Henriksen's Poetry pages.)

My original intent had been to find the poems for you to copy and paste them here. Once I got to her page, I realized that she's got LOTS to choose from!!
------------------------------
Soooo, Plan B- I'll just leave the URL's for you and you can track down the poems you want.

Internet Archive, for pages no longer found online
http://www.archive.org/index.html

(Enter the URL of the site you want into the section called the "Wayback Machine". Make sure you don't leave two sets of 'http://' otherwise it won't find the site.)

Mrs. Henriksen's Poetry Pages
http://members.home.net/henriksent/

Once you get to the "Wayback Machine" page, click on "May 15, 2001". (You might also want to try some of the othe dates, to see what you get.)

Hope this all works for you!

Hope this helps:

The Month Poem:

Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November;
February has twenty-eight alone,
All the rest have thirty-one,
Excepting leap-year, that's the time
When February's days are twenty-nine.

Becky
