What would be an average weight for a two and a half year old girl? I'm curious about something I read in a book. Thanks!

It depends on her height, but here's a scale I always used when my kids were younger:

My son is a peanut. He is on the bottom of the scale. He will be 7 in June and just barely weighs 40lbs.

My daughter just turned 3 but she's been 29 lbs for the last 7 or 8 months. Dr. said she's ok though.

The growth chart won't open on my computer. I had already Googled for an answer and got other growth charts but can't find one that opens.

The book is fiction, about a group of WWII prisoners who are starving. One of the characters comments about a two-and-a-half year old girl who "now weighs less than 30 pounds" and everyone is very concerned about her. I just thought 30 pounds seemed high for a malnourished toddler, and was trying to find out if it was in fact reasonable.

30 sounds like a normal 2 yr old weight to me

My two year old granddaughter is 41 pounds and overweight. I remember her mother being 42 pounds at that age. Also, my daughter and her daughter were both tall for their ages.

My 4 1/2 year old weighs only 31!~ She is on the tiny side though and has always been. That does seem kind of a high weight for them to be "concerned".

I think the author screwed up. DS#1 just hit 40lbs and he is 6 and DS#2 is just over 30lbs and he is 3.

Mine are boys but I have a:

2 (almost 3 year old) who weighs 34 pounds (has a little belly on him)

4 year old who weighs 38 pounds (skin and bones but tall)

4 year old who weighs 43 pounds (tall and broad- he could be a football player- he is not chubby, just thick)

7 month old- 17 pounds YEA!!!! He was my failure to thrive baby who only weighed 7 pounds at 5 weeks and we skin and bones, but now he has some chunkiness to him.

I think the author was wrong. Maybe if the 2 year old weighed under 20 pounds it would be a cause for concern. Especially being a girl.

Since my 2 1/2 yr old was under weight when she was born I am absolutely hyper about her weight. Currently, she weighs 28 pounds & has been fluctuating in that range for about last six months. She is extremely active & the doctors are not concerned at all.

I looked ours up. At around 2 1/2 our oldest DS weighed 26 pounds, our younger DS was 29 pounds and our DD weighed 21 pounds on her second birthday. However she was two months premature and I 'm sure the factors into it.
