need a "western/cowboy" bulletin board

I'm new at a school and trying to get everything together. I've been told our school-wide theme this year is a "western/cowboy" theme. Any ideas for a good kindergarten bulletin board or anything else that goes with the theme?

Western Bulletin Board

I outlined a cowboy on cardboard figure (from the back), painted his hat, hair and skin color...and then put a white "wife beater" t-shirt and an old pair of blue jeans on him. His left arm looks like it's hanging something up from the back. I did the background of the bulleting board like grass, flowers, and the sky. I flanked the board with two trees and a rope hangs in between the both of them. The caption reads "Hanging Out Our Best." I use this board to display their work.

Also....I had a bulleting board outside with a girl leaning against a tree....white picket fence...grass...complete with a cow chewing the grass....I made her barefooted with a pair of boots laying on their sides in the grass. The caption reads, "Kick Off Your Boots And Read Awhile!" The girl has a book jacket in her hands.

On the Door...I have a cowboy painted on poster board (life size) with the words "This is a Great Place to Hang Your Hat!"

If you can think of any other cute things...please pass them on. Have a great school year.

I did a cowboy theme one year. I had wanted signs that said, "Wanted: Hard-working Helpers" I used a picture of each child that I placed in the middle to show who had the job for the week.

I also did "Kick Up Your Heels, It's Your Birthday" I gave each child a boot to color and we made a huge bar graph on the wall.

I had sheriff badges hanging from the ceiling.

I had "Hats Off To A New Year" hanging outside the room.

I also had name tags with hats on them. I made all of the things, I am pretty sure I have most of the files if you are in need, let me know and I will look for them.

You can use different colored bandanas to decorate the BB. I saw a cute picture somewhere - will have to try to find it and post it for you to see.

Another thought is to use the character "Woody" from Toy Story. Woody's Roundup, etc.

How about "We're roundin' up kindergartners!" then put kids names on cowboy hat cutouts or such

I did this theme two years ago and the kids loved it!

I did a bulletin board "Kick up your heels, It's your birthday!"

I took their pics in cowboy hats and bandanas and put them on
wanted posters (also used the pics for the job board "Wanted -Hardworkin' Helpers"

In the room I made a corral for the reading area! We hung up cowboy boots, horshoes, and badges from the ceiling. The corral had hay barrels for reading (got really messy), campfire (made of cardboard), and bandana pillows.

Oh, yeah two weeks before school I sent out a letter - I made a help wanted letter with their picture in the middle. I used last years yearbook photo and scanned it in. It said WANTED! Their name, small description, last seen leaving 3rd. grade, etc..

Hope this helps! There is more, but it could take all night. Let me know if you need more ideas or have questions!
