Adding Picture without Moving Text

Is it possible to add a picture next to the text in a word document without shifting the text? When I try to insert a picture from clip art it moves the text. Can it be done?

click on the picture, then right click. when the little menu comes up click on "text wrapping". i'm not sure which one does it, but one of them allows you to type without the picture freaking out and jumping all over the page.

Insert the picture and then double click on it and go to the layout tab and make the picture in front of text.

You may have to experiment a little

Some of the other teachers may be right, but I usually select format: picture: layout: tight.

Tight lets you put the picture wherever you want it, and the text goes where the picture is not. If you then move the picture where you want it, the text will go back in line where is was before. Good luck.
