For those of you who have done a camping theme, where did you purchase your decorations from? I have been looking online at classroom supply stores but haven't found much. Thanks for your help.

I have this:
http://www.a2zteachersoutlet.com/cat...dj610016.shtml
and this
http://www.homeroomteacher.com/arcti...nboardset.aspx

I use a lot of wood frame for bulletin board borders like this:
http://www.carsondellosacatalog.com/...4410d1369476be

I also have used some frog pond stuff. I couldn't find the exact one but something like this
http://www.schoodoodle.com/home/sch_...set_frogs.html

I almost forgot teachers clubhouse has some camping themed nameplates and stuff.
http://www.teachersclubhouse.com/camping.htm

The rest I mostly made myself.

These links has great pictures and ideas: http://www.clutterfreeclassroom.com/campingtheme
http://www.geocities.com/campingteac...corations.html
http://www.smithsroom.com/back_to_school.htm

Here's a couple of other PT ideas:
  • Buy a red/white checker pattern fabric or table cloth. Write the class rules on paper plates and staple them onto the board in different places. You could title the board "____ Grade is full of Happy Campers"
  • Get a red and white checked tablecloth (plastic), cut out "marshmellows" in white construction paper, cut out brown "graham crackers", and used Hershey wrappers. Our title was "We're Ready for S'More Learning" We put important field trips and units on the marshmellows and the graham crackers.
  • Buy plastic bugs from the Dollar Store and use the caption, "Watch Out for Computer Bugs" or "There's No Bugs About It..."
  • Camping Items: http://www.homeroomteacher.com/index...OD&ProdID=3770
There is also a moose bulletin board set that has animals, a campfire and a pine tree:
    http://bksschoolhouse.com/shop.php?sid=149
There is a bulletin board set that has a large pine tree:
    http://www.schoodoodle.com/home/sch/...board_set.html
  • I've attached a document chimneygrl posted on PT about how to make a campfire. THIS IS NOT MY DOCUMENT.

Camping Theme

My collegue bought some through the Second Grader Teacher's Club. She bought calendar headers, numbers, binder cover, and other decor that you print from your computer.

She has a bulletin board from Lakeshore Learning. The manufacturer is Carson Dellosa and it is called "Big Moose", you might be able to find it on their website. It doesn't have tents or anything but it has a moose, pine trees, woodland animals, acorns, and leaves.

Good luck.

My collegue has a campfire bulletin board set she had as a "welcome" in the hallway. It had woods animals around a campfire. I will try to find out the manufacturer.

I bought most of my camping bulletin boards from teacherstorehouse.com . It is an AWESOME website for teachers and they carry everything from all the major companies like Carson Dellosa, Trend, Teachers Friend, etc. If you spend $75 you get free shipping and the more you spend, the more of a discount you get the next time you shop.
