Anyone been to a Kim Sutton math training before? Tomorrow is day 1 of the 4 day workshop in Dallas, and I was just wondering what to expect and if it was good. She has workshops all over the US, not just TX. My principal paid about $350 a person for 3 of us to go, so I hope we get our money's worth.

I go to her 2-day workshops every year. I was just able to go to a Math Camp for the first time in Kansas City. It was really awesome!!

Make sure that you bring all the supplies that she asks you to bring!!

You'll definitely need scissors, tape, and markers!

Also -- bring a camera for sure!!!

I have been to many of her workshops, including Math Camp a few years ago. You will LOVE it! I went this year, but attended the 5-7 camp. She is an awesome presenter, and it will change your teaching in math. Have fun! Also, like the pp said...Bring a camera and the supplies.

Today was day 1 of Math Camp, and it was awesome! The problem is she has so many great ideas that I'm a little overwhelmed. She promised that it would be less overwhelming tomorrow. Wow!! Now if I can just figure out what books, dice, posters, etc that I want to buy of hers w/o going broke.

I've gone to her workshops the last 3 years and I've spent WAY too much money on her stuff.

From my experience teaching both 3rd and 4th grade, the resources I've used the most are:

--place value dice (I use them nearly daily)
--double decahedron dice (also use nearly daily)
--Math Drills that Thrill resource book (we use the random number CD that comes with this every single week!)
--the faster random number CD that you have to buy separately

I also use the Ron Brown Math CD (Math Concepts I & II) all the time!

I've been digesting her ideas for the last 3 years and I'm STILL overwhelmed!! She's amazing.
