Teacher Discounts
Old 07-11-2009, 02:16 PM

Hey everyone! So I read a PT message that is a few messages down and noticed that teachers get a special discount at Ann Taylor Loft. I also personally know that if you have your cell phone through verizon wireless, and you give them a school pay stub-bam-18% discount on your bill from then on. Are there any other non school related discounts that teachers can get? I thought it would be good to have a specific thread just for sharing this money saving info. We aren't millionaires in this profession, we have to do all we can!

Cingular/AT&T gives a discount to teachers. I cannot remember how much, but I know I noticed a difference in my bill. A friend told me yesterday The Limited gives a 15% discount, you have to have proof (pay stub, other teacher cards). I am anxious to hear about others out there, too!

I wish I had known that Joann's gives a discount to teachers when I was buying the fabric for all of the draperies in my house a couple of years ago! That 15% would have added up nicely!!

& Michaels Craft Store (sign up online--teacher's club is called THE KNACK) I just signed up and was emailed a 40% off coupon for one item. They have the cutest storage for Children's rooms right now. I printed it off four times and brought some friends to buy four cute paper sorters!!!

With all of this free publicity on PT, TARGET should be giving a discount to teachers!

I get 10% off my Farmer's car insurance. I just had to fax a note saying that I was a full time teacher on school letterhead.

New York and Company also gives a 15% discount. If you don't have your check stub or ID with you, you can also use your insurance card as long as it says something about education employee on it!

A lot of places give teacher discounts. I know some movie theaters do, and some restaurants. I just try to remember to ask. It never hurts to ask.

Verizon also gives a 25% discount on all accessories. AC Moore gives a 10% discount (can't receive the discount if you use a coupon anymore).

It should be Frog 7 in my title instead of sassylteacher... but it will not let me edit that part. Sorry

You can check for the verizon discount online. Below is the link. The one thing is the phone has to be in your name. If you are married and it is in your husbands name... they will not let you use the discount. Also, some businesses give more of a discount than others.
